Callisto Corp. is bringing
PhotoParade Maker to the Macintosh. Currently available only for Windows-based PCs, PhotoParade Maker is a low-cost software application which turn digital photos into media-rich slideshows and screensavers.
If you have digital photos you’d like to assemble into a multimedia presentation, you can use PhotoParade Maker to incorporate intricate animation, graphics, music, narrations and titling. The software also incorporates editing tools, in case you need to retouch or enhance your images.
The finished PhotoParades can be distributed via e-mail, made available for download from a Web page, or otherwise distributed to anyone who has a copy of PhotoParade Player. Freely downloadable from the PhotoParade Web site, PhotoParade Player is available for both Windows and Mac OS. You can also download PhotoParade samples to see what the software can do.
Although PhotoParade Player is already available for the Mac, this will mark the first tile that Callisto has produced a Mac version of PhotoParade Maker, the authoring system used to actually create those files.
PhotoParades incorporate built-in features like the ability to turn into a personalized screen saver, a wallpaper feature that enables users to turn their favorite PhotoParade images into desktop wallpaper, and more.
Callisto has also developed dozens of PhotoParade themes suitable for special occasions, holidays, new babies, weddings, and vacations. Each theme incorporates custom music, animation and art.
Callisto reports that PhotoParade Maker is currently in Beta and is expected to ship in early April. The software will be available for purchase in one of three theme bundles with prices ranging from US$19.99 to $39.99. System requirements call for a PowerPC-based Mac and Mac OS 8.6 or later.
