We’ve mentioned before that Santa Claus is a Mac user. Now there’s more proof. On the “Frequently Asked Questions about Santa Claus” Web site, one question is, ” What kind of computer does Santa Claus use ?
The answer: “Santa uses Apple Macintosh computers — this site is supported using three Power PC machines (PowerMac 8600/300, PowerMac 7500, PowerMac 7100, and a PowerMac 6100) and a Quadra 700, Centris 650 and IIci.” (Thanks to Michael Juarez for the heads-up on this one.)
Meanwhile, San Francisco TV station KPIX did a story on Christmas Eve about Arion Press which was making it’s last run of hand crafted prints of the Bible. In the story, a Mac SE was used to help with the typesetting process, several readers reported. You can read more about Arion online.
Finally, in the January 2001 issue of “Playboy,” the magazine has recommended the G4 cube and Studio Display in an article about last-minute gift ideas for Christmas. Included is a photo of the cube with display, showing Mac OS 9 on the screen.
(If you’ve sent us an item for our Famous People column, please be patient. It will appear, but we’ve been swamped with entries. If you know of a famous person using the Mac, send it to Yours Truly at dsellers@maccentral.com. If you want credit for your “Mac spotting,” be sure to include your full name.)
