Once again expanding the limits on size (and price) for large-screen flat panel displays,
NEC is shipping a 50-inch plasma monitor.
“The PlasmaSync 50MP1 is the only 50-inch XGA monitor on the market designed specifically to meet the needs of multimedia presentation users,” said Scott Evans, product marketing manager for the Visual Systems Division at NEC Technologies. “Its 1365×768 resolution is unmatched by any 50-inch XGA monitor shipping today, and its unique split screen multi-input display and best-of-class image quality make the 50MP1 a superior choice for applications from the boardroom to the broadcast booth. With its host of innovative features, the PlasmaSync 50MP1 confirms NEC Technologies’ position as the only manufacturer with the vision to provide a solution for virtually any display need.”
The display also boasts image quality enhanced by NEC Technologies’ patented Capsulated Color Filter technology, which delivers realistic color reproduction, and by AccuBlend scan conversion technology, which enables sharp display of high-resolution images. In addition, the 50MP1 features advanced video signal processing, including a motion compensated 3D scan converter and a 2/3 pull down converter for enhanced video.
Furthermore, the PlasmaSync 50MP1 has a 3X digital zoom feature which enables presenters to select an area of the screen and enlarge it up to 300 percent.
The PlasmaSync 50MP1 display is available now through the NEC Technologies network of authorized AV Integrators and Specialty Value Added Distributors. The suggested retail price of the plasma monitor is $18,995. It comes standard with a DVI connector.
