During Tuesday’s Macworld San Francisco keynote, Apple CEO Steve Jobs said that printer support was now present in Mac OS X. Lexmark International is working on X compatible printer drivers available for its Z22, Z32 and Z52 Color Jetprinters. The software will be available from Lexmark’s Web site “shortly after” the final release of OS X on March 24.
“Mac OS X is an impressive modern operating system and Lexmark is excited to extend its support,” said Tim Craig, president of Lexmark’s Consumer Printer Division, in a press announcement. “Lexmark has established itself as a resolution leader in the printer industry and our easy to use printers complement the new Aqua interface with sharp and vivid output that matches the brilliance of the images on the screen.”
The Z22, Z32, and Z52 offer print resolutions of up to 2400 x 1200 dots per inch (dpi) and USB connectivity. Lexmark’s signature features, available in the Z-line, include: Accu-Feed paper handling system, which helps reduce jams and misfeeds, and quick open-and-load cartridge installation.
