Waves in Motion, the Phoenix, AZ-based FileMaker Pro developer, is displaying its development tools, plug-ins, and new Smart Card technology at this week’s Macworld Expo in San Francisco.
Among the products are Analyzer (a tool that goes beyond FileMaker’s functionality by automatically documenting every element of a FileMaker project), Script Scheduler (which lets you trigger any script in any FileMaker project at a scheduled time, at regular intervals, or whenever you exit a particular field), and Oazium CC Authorize (the first FileMaker Pro plug-in that lets you build Internet-based, credit card authorization into your projects).
Waves in Motion is also showing the integration of the latest Smart Card technology with the Mac OS and FileMaker Pro. Bundle a Smart Card reader with the new oAzium Smart Card plug-in, and you can now transfer data to and from an inexpensive card that lets people carry personalized, encrypted information right next to their credit cards, according to Vince Menanno of Waves in Motion.
“You can build your own card-activated security system, implement a customer loyalty program, or tell the folks at IDG to design the database for their next Macworld Expo with FileMaker Pro and Smart Cards that can carry information from exhibit to exhibit and get smarter with every swipe,” he said.
