VOODOO Server from Uni Software Plus is being shown running natively under Mac OS X at this week’s Macworld Expo in San Francisco. VOODOO Server is a version control system for software developers using Metrowerks CodeWarrior under the Mac operating system.
Unlike most other version control solutions, VOODOO Server features a modern client/server architecture, according to said Christoph Reichenberger, VODOOO product manager The “robust and efficient” new Mac OS X builds the “ideal platform” for running VOODOO Server, he added. The CodeWarrior plug-in offers a version control solution that lets you keep track of all your files without having to deal with additional complexity and bureaucracy, all from inside the CodeWarrior IDE in an easy-to-use Mac-like style, available the same way under OS X and the “classic” OS, Reichenberger said.
“We are impressed with the advancements Apple is making with its new operating system and are happy to showcase VOODOO Server natively on OS X at this year’s Macworld Expo,” said Reichenberger in a press announcement. “We will continue to work closely with Apple to make sure to provide our software natively on Mac OS X as soon as OS X will be released.”
VOODOO Server is the successor to Uni’s stand-alone version control application VOODOO. Reichenberger said they designed the client/server system to be able to combine the experience from our previous product with state-of-the-art technology, such as the client/server architecture, full support of the AppleEvent Object Model, and more. VOODOO Server is recommended for individual programmers and large developer groups using the Metrowerks CodeWarrior.
