A small update to the Eddy award winning Script Debugger from Late Night Software has been released, taking the utility up to version 2.0.4. It’s a free update and is available for all previous versions of Script Debugger 2.0.x.
The AppleScript authoring environment lets you use its AppleScript debugger in other OSA scripting environments such as Mac OS Folder Actions, Apple Data Detectors and CGI scripting. It’s completely scriptable, attachable and recordable so you can extend its functionality using AppleScript. The entire Script Debugger interface is configurable; elements such as the scripts palette let you add new commands to the user interface. Script Debugger 2.0 also lets you introduce new templates and clippings.
Script Debugger 2.0 also sports a Dictionary Explorer that lets you examine and modify the live data offered by any scriptable application. It retails for US$189. Users of Script Debugger 1.0 can upgrade for US $99.
The 2.0.4 update addresses a series of issues that have come to light since the release of Script Debugger 2.0.3 and Mac OS 9.1. The update introduces external debugger compatibility with DTI’s FaceSpan, markers, and a number of other new features. The update is highly recommended for those using Mac OS 9. It’s available at the Late Night Software Web site.
