Large-format printer manufacturer Roland DGA today announced the availability of SignMate 6.5 for the Mac.
SignMate 6.5 is designed for Roland’s LF printers, printer/cutters and vinyl-cutting devices, which include the Hi-Fi JET, CAMMJET, ColorCAMM PRO and CAMM-1. Standard features in the software include spot color support, nesting, contour cutting, color separation, and gradient fill functions.
Aimed at digital sign makers and large-format (LF) print-for-pay shops, SignMate 6.5 has several new editing features, including:
The program has also been redesigned with a single-window “DesignCentral” interface that eliminates the need for numerous dialog boxes for adjusting object properties and applying other effects.
The program also allows users to change quick key functions and configure SignMate to look and feel like their favorite programs through built-in interface profiles like those found in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and CorelDRAW.
The “basic” version of SignMate 6.5 is priced at US$1,999, or $2,499 for the version with color calibration. The “Pro” version of the software, which includes more advanced production features, costs $4,499 (again, add $500 for color calibration). All SignMate versions include an Adobe PostScript 3 RIP.
