Berkley Integrated Audio Software Inc. (BIAS) has announced several products at this week’s NAMM Winter Show in Anaheim, Calif., including the light edition of their multitrack digital audio workstation software for the Mac.
Deck le is a limited-feature edition of the program, intended to be an entry-level application that includes core features and functionality of the full version of the program. Like the full version, Deck le supports most ASIO-compatible audio hardware, including the MOTU 2408/1224, Event Layla/Gina/Darla, Digidesign, Audio Media III, Lexicon Core 2, M-Audio Delta series, Sea Sound Solo, TASCAM US-428, and others.
Deck le will record, edit and play back up to 8 tracks of CD quality audio, and will support most popular file formats. Deck le will be sold as a retail product FOR US$99, but will also come bundled with leading audio cards and interfaces from BIAS OEM partners.
Deck le will be available by the end of March.
In addition, the company announced it is now shipping version 2.7 of Deck, its $400 full-featured multitrack digital audio workstation software. Deck 2.7 now supports most ASIO-compatible audio hardware, including the MOTU 2408/1224, Event Layla/Gina/Darla, Digidesign, Audio Media III, Lexicon Core 2, M-Audio Delta Series, Sea Sound Solo, TASCAM US-428, and others.
ASIO support was originally planned for Deck to be included with VST plug-in support in the upcoming next generation of Deck, which is currently in development. However, it was decided to release an ASIO-compatible version of Deck ahead of time.
Upgrades to Deck 2.7 are free for customers who purchased BIAS Deck 2.62 or later with a valid BIAS Deck serial number. Upgrades from Deck 2.0 to 2.61 are $99, and upgrades from Deck 1.x are $299.
