The Mac game conversion experts at Westlake Interactive have reported on the status of two game projects they’re working on: Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2 and Centipede. Tony Hawk 2 will be published by Aspyr Media, while Centipede is a MacSoft project.
“Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2 is one step closer to the Mac, as we have reached our ‘first playable’ milestone on the project,” said Westlake. “The game is up and running, with some glitches here and there, but is definitely showing promise.”
“If the project continues to go smoothly, we should have plenty of time to give [Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2] Mac a nice polish and maybe even a Mac-specific feature or two,” they added.
Westlake has also announced that work has begun on a new project — the Macintosh conversion of Centipede. It’s a modern remake of the classic Atari coin-op game, licensed this past year by Mac game publisher MacSoft as part of a thirteen-title publishing deal with Hasbro Interactive.
According to Westlake’s project status page, Centipede is also at first playable status. The company doesn’t have estimated dates for when Centipede and Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2 will be passed off to publishers for duplication — we’ll bring you more details as they become available.
