Infamus Software has released a new tool for extracting media from a web browser’s cache, called WebXTractor. The new program allows users to browse through their cache and view images and movies that were not saved traditionally to disk.
WebXTractor comes with two powerful tools in one application. The first, CacheXTractor, allows you to search and extract any file from you browser cache. The other, SiteXTractor, allows you to search web pages for file links and files (even if they are not normally easy to save — such as background music, MP3s, or large QuickTime movies).
CacheXtractor supports Netscape Navigator/Communicator 4.0 or higher, Internet Explorer 4.0 or higher (5.0 included), iCab, and AOL cache systems.
The tool requires a Power Macintosh with QuickTime installed.
