MacCentral reader Wyatt Webb is the brother-in-law of Mike Rich, the screenwriter of the new film, “Finding Forrester,” starring Sean Connery. Webb said the author used Final Draft on his PowerBook to write and re-write the script.
“I have been the primary computer consultant for my brother-in-law for a few years now (i.e. he and I talk about what the new models are and which would fit his needs best),” he said. “I convinced him to buy a Mac when he first bought a computer and he has owned Macs only, since. He now owns an iMac DV SE (Graphite) and a PowerBook (I forget the model).”
In other Mac sightings, the Jan. 22 “Time” magazine has a brief TechWatch article that introduces readers to an expedition undertaken by Ann Bancroft and Liv Arnesen across Antarctica. The “Time” article mentions that a PowerBook with a satellite uplink is used to log the journey, reports Frank Piccolo.
(If you’ve sent us an item for our Famous People column, please be patient. It will appear, but we’ve been swamped with entries. If you know of a famous person using the Mac, send it to Yours Truly at dsellers@maccentral.com. If you want credit for your “Mac spotting,” be sure to include your full name.)
