Connectix has pulled its Virtual PC 4.01 updater from circulation a day after releasing it. In a recent communication with MacCentral, Connectix’s Virtual PC product manager indicated that several factors precipitated the decision.
“First we lost power for the vast majority of the day (between the bad weather and rolling blackouts, maintaining power has been a problem),” said product manager Teresa Mahler. “Secondly, we only posted the English 4.01 updater and many of our international customers were downloading it.”
Mahler explained that the English-only updater wasn’t designed to work on international versions, causing many international Virtual PC users to seek tech support.
“Early next week we will post the English and International updaters simultaneously,” said Mahler.
