Subband Software, Inc. has updated their MacAmp audio player and broadcasting software to version 2.0.1. The new version is available for download from Subband’s Web site.
MacAmp 2.0.1 was formerly know as AMP Radio. With the new major update to 2.0 the developers changed the name back to MacAmp, and added and improved many features.
MacAmp provides users with the ability to play a variety of digital audio file formats, including MP2, MP3, WAV, AIFF, CD Audio, Ogg Vorbis, MIDI and MOD. The software supports playback of Shoutcast and Icecast audio streams, and can be used to broadcast MP3 streams, as well.
Version 2.0.1 of MacAmp provides the following improvements:
Subband Software offers MacAmp 2.0.1 as a shareware download. Users are encouraged to pay a US$15 registration fee. System requirements call for a PowerPC-based Mac running Mac OS 8.5 or better with 3000K available RAM. Internet access is required for the streaming function to work.
