Game developer/publisher Blizzard Entertainment is celebrating its 10th year in business with a sweepstakes planned for the month of February. Each day next month, winners will be selected to receive prizes from Blizzard’s rather large and eclectic vault of goodies.
Blizzard has published a string of hits over the past ten years for the Mac and PC, including Diablo II, StarCraft, Warcraft and Warcraft II. This year will see the release of Diablo II: Lord of Destruction, a new expansion pack for Diablo II; and Warcraft III, the latest game in the series that pits Orcs against Humans in an epic struggle for total domination.
Prizes include dozens of items of memorabilia, ranging from autographed CDs of their popular games to original concept artwork. Beyond the usual array of t-shirts and jackets, there are some real oddball prizes, too — golf balls, French postcards of Starcraft, watches, bumper stickers and other tchotchkes. Two winners will also receive a Diablo II Expansion Anniversary Prize and a Warcraft III Anniversary Prize; one Grand Prize winner will get a trip for two to scenic Irvine, Calif. to visit Blizzard Entertainment’s headquarters (along with passes to Disneyland, which is a relatively short drive away in Anaheim).
The sweepstakes costs nothing to enter, but please check the rules to make sure you’re eligible to win before registering.
