Digital Anarchy has announced Text Anarchy 2.0, a filter set for After Effects and Final Cut Pro. The tool is used for creating and animating text in those applications, and it works with Mac OS 8.6 or higher, including Mac OS X.
Digital Anarchy President and founder Jim Tierney explained that Text Anarchy 2.0 is aimed at projects where text is the main component of the design. The previous filter set was developed principally for use in creating background text elements.
Text Anarchy 2.0 comprises eight different filters that produce different varieties of text effects, ranging from particle systems specifically design for text to animation of characters letter-by-letter. The filters work with almost any TrueType or PostScript Type 1 font, as well.
Other features in Text Anarchy 2.0 include precise kerning, tracking and leading control; a “Cool Text” filter; stacking effects which allow multiple effects to be applied together; path alternatives; random text and more.
Text Anarchy 2.0 is available until April 30, 2003 for US$129. Owners of Elements of Anarchy: Text can upgrade for $89. More info is available online.
What’s more, Digital Anarchy plans to showcase Text Anarchy 2.0 at next week’s National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) 2003 conference. Look for them in booth SL 2618.
