Bella Corp. has introduced a new line of keyboards specifically developed to simplify digital video editing. The new keyboards integrate a jog/shuttle controller and are designed to work with software like Final Cut Pro, Xpress DV, Premiere and others.
The USB-based keyboards can be used as standard keyboards for non-video editing software, as well. The new keyboard line is built off the work that Bella has done already with its line of EZ Keyboards. Bella’s EZ Keyboards work with Final Cut Pro, Premiere, After Effects, Xpress DV and Media 800i, and sport integrated editing functions and layouts designed for video editing pros.
The new keyboards feature programmable jog/shuttle controllers with an outer ring that turns 90 degrees in either direction, and an inner wheel designed for frame-by-frame control. Each keyboard includes software that will install presets designed for most popular applications according to Bella. The company will also offer additional presets for download from their Web site. Web, e-mail and multimedia keys are also included on the keyboards.
As MacCentral posted this article, Bella hadn’t yet updated their Web site with pricing information on the new keyboards. Bella noted plans to show them off at next week’s NAB 2003 conference in Las Vegas, Nevada, and said it will provide pricing and availability info then. Look for them there in booth SL 1667, where they’ll also be giving away more than $5,000 in video editing software in daily drawings, including copies of Final Cut Pro and Xpress DV.
