XGaming Inc. is at it again, this time bringing to market a trackball design for Mac and PC gaming enthusiasts looking to replicate the arcade experience at home. The company today announced the X-Arcade Trackball.
Aimed squarely at game fanatics looking to recreate an authentic video game arcade experience at home, the X-Arcade Trackball is part of the same family of products that started with the eponymous X-Arcade itself, a massive joystick and button array modeled after the heavy-duty, industrial-strength controls found on coin-operated video games. The controller, available in one and two-player editions, has become a hot commodity amongst video game emulation fans and other hardcore game players.
Like its joystick cousin, the X-Arcade Trackball is made of wood and the same sort of components you’d find in the arcade. It features a dual-button layout to accommodate left or right-handed players, and sports dual PS2 and USB ports, so it’s compatible with both Macs and Windows-based PCs. In fact, XGaming said the X-Arcade Trackball works as a standard multi-button mouse in games and other applications. It also comes with a fifteen-foot long cable.
The X-Arcade Trackball also comes with games, although the titles are PC-only.
Announced today, the X-Arcade Trackball is anticipated for release in June, and it doesn’t appear that a price has been set yet. More details are available from the Web site.
