The Internet Streaming Media Alliance (ISMA) — a non-profit corporation founded in 2000 by Apple, Cisco, IBM, Kasenna Inc., Philips (PHG), and Sun Microsystems — will host an open information session entitled “The Future of Streaming Media” on Tuesday, April 8, at the National Association of Broadcasters’ (NAB) 2003 convention Las Vegas, Nevada.
The session is open to all NAB attendees and will showcase the ISMA’s new Certification Program. Attendees will learn what the ISMA’s new Certification Program will mean for the streaming media industry and how to participate. The ISMA will also provide an update on technical activities, including the alliance’s new content protection specification, and other programs.
The ISMA released a new content protection specification for peer review on Monday. The specification is designed to serve as a foundation for the “secure delivery of streaming and download media content,” according to the ISMA, an alliance of nearly 40 companies.
