Storage peripheral maker WiebeTech LLC has introduced two new 60 and 80GB models to its line of MicroGB+ FireWire “pocket” drives. The units are available immediately.
The MicroGB 60GB model uses a 5400RPM 8MB cache-equipped hard disk mechanism, while the 80GB configuration incorporates a Hitachi/IBM-made 4200RPM mechanism with 8MB cache. Both drives come bundled with MacDrive 5, software that enables the Mac file structure to be viewed and used by a Windows PC.
WiebeTech’s MicroGB+ sports dual FireWire interfaces, and is also available in 0GB user configurable, 20GB, 30GB, 40GB and 40GB high speed models. The unit is small enough to be bus-powered, so an AC adapter is optional.
The new 60GB model carries a retail price of US$399.95, while the 80GB model sells for $429.95.
