Runtime Revolution and Paradigma Software have announced support for Paradigma’s Valentina database in Revolution, the cross-platform Rapid Application Development (RAD) environment.
Using the Valentina XCMD component, it’s now possible for Revolution-built applications to incorporate direct access for relational databases created around the Valentina engine. Valentina uses a SQL-compatible database kernel that can handle millions of records. Valentina handles any type of data including including Binary Large Objects (BLOBs) like audio, video and other media.
Available for Revolution for Mac OS X, Mac OS and Windows, the Valentina XCMD is available separately or bundled with Revolution itself. The Valentina XCMD costs US$199 for a single platform of $299 for Mac and Windows. Revolution starts at $99 for an academic version and runs to to $995 for a pro version. Visit Runtime Revolution’s Web site for more details.
