COMPanion Corp. has released Alexandria 5.44 rev B, the latest version of their library automation software. The new release improves Mac OS X support, offers new reporting options and more.
Alexandria offers built-in library, Web and e-mail servers. The integrated servers allow users to instantly access online and network tools without having to configure a server. Alexandria’s client/server technology also gives librarians faster network speed by eliminating file sharing.
Version 5.44 adds centralized or distributed union catalogues; circulation interface enhancements; Web interface improvements; and SIF (Schools Interoperability Framework) 1.1 support. The SIF specification is a technical blueprint that lets schools share data more efficiently by providing universal data standards that enable multiple programs to share information within a school or district, across different software and hardware platforms.
Alexandria 5.44 rev B is a free upgrade to current Alexandria customers. Potential new customers must contact the company for pricing options.
