Blue World Communications Inc. has announced that it will release Lasso Reporter 6 — a new tool designed to generate reports from data contained within MySQL databases. The software is designed to work on servers running Blue World’s Lasso Professional 6 Web application server.
Blue World bills Lasso Reporter as easy enough for business professionals to use without having to hire a programmer or involve IT staff. In fact, Blue World CEO Bill Doerrfeld explained that the LassoApp was developed out of a need within his own organization. “Lasso Reporter brings the same ease-of-use for report generation found in leading workgroup database products to MySQL databases,” he said.
The software enables users to generate private reports or reports for workgroups. Features include multi-user security; dynamic reports that change as the data within the found set changes; the ability to export to other formats or print; custom query support; grouping and sorting capabilities; and many other features. And as a LassoApp, Lasso Reporter is installed by dragging and dropping the application into your Web documents folder, then by clicking the “Initialize” button within the Setup area.
Blue World plans to ship Lasso Reporter 6 in late April. The software will be previewed tomorrow through Friday at the MySQL Users Conference and Expo in San Jose, Calif.
Lasso Reporter 6 will be released as a free download from Blue World’s Web site, and requires Lasso Professional 6 for Mac OS X, Windows or Linux.
