OMG plc subsidiary 2d3 has announced Mac OS X compatibility for the company’s boujou professional 3D camera matchmoving software at NAB2003. It’s the first time the automated shot tracking solution has been available on the Mac platform.
Boujou (pronounced “boo-zhoo”) is a fully automated camera calibration and tracking system built for those involved in film and television effects, games development, architectural visualization, and industrial design applications. With it, users can derive complex camera tracks and calibration data from film or video material without manual tracking input.
Boujou, now up to version 2.1, supports the import of such formats as: MOV, AVI, Cineon, JPEG, PGM, PPM, Softimage PIC, SGI, TGA, PNG and TIFF. Camera path and 3D geometry can be exported directly to animation applications, while 2D tracks can be exported to products such as Apple’s Shake.
A demo of boujou 2.1 is available at the 2d3 Web site, along with details on contact info to inquire about pricing.
