Toronto-based Flash user group FlashinTO is getting ready to kick off the FlashintheCan Festival, billed as the only Canadian Flash festival of its kind.
Set to happen next week at the Guvernment Entertainment complex in Toronto, FlashintheCan draws together Flash developers and designers together for three days of presentations, panels, workshops, an awards show, the “IronFlash” competition, and a few surprises for good measure. Each day focuses on one specific area: Design, Programming and Business. There’s also a party planned for the second night of the event.
Presenters for this year’s FlashintheCan include Macromedia chief software architect Kevin Lynch, Web guru and author Colin Moock, artist and technologist Joshua Davis, and an international panel of Flash experts from the US, Canada, the UK, and elsewhere. This year’s presentations include the use of Flash video in movies, MX audio technology, designing user friendly content and much more — visit the site for a list of what’s up at this year’s event.
The FlashintheCan Festival runs from April 14 – 16, 2003 at Guvernment/Kool Haus, located at the corner of Queens Quay East and Lower Jarvis St, in Toronto. Tickets are on sale online for CDN$550, $175 for students.
