Mere Mortal Software has released Safe Place 1.0, a Mac OS X application designed to securely store info you don’t want others to see.
The US$10 application comes pre-configured with seven categories for storing software registration information, banking and credit card numbers, and Web and FTP site passwords. You can change the default categories if you wish and make new ones. Each category can have up to six custom fields, and any field can be set to store either a text value, a password, a URL or an e-mail address.
Safe Place stores data using industry-standard encryption algorithms and uses a user-supplied password as the encryption key — the data can only be viewed by using the password. You can download a free 30-day trial version from the Mere Mortal Web site.
