Rogue Amoeba Software LLC has released Audio Hijack Pro 1.1, an update to their audio utility for Mac OS X. What’s more, a new “Freebies” section on the Rogue Amoeba Web site gives users some new goodies to grab.
Audio Hijack Pro is billed as “an audio grabber and enricher.” You can record and save audio from any application using Audio Hijack Pro, and you can also apply digital signal processing (DSP) effects to tweak and improve audio content as well. Audio Hijack Pro works with VST and AudioUnit-compatible plug-ins, handles MP3 recording, timers, and the ability to pause recordings, create sets of effects called Patches, and more.
Major changes in Audio Hijack Pro 1.1 include the addition of VBR and ABR MP3 encoding; a Line-in Recording option for recording live input; split recording; an activity log window; 16-bit AIFF recording; AIFF mono left and right recording; new file naming variables and a revamped interface.
Additionally, Rogue Amoeba Software said that it has improved the reliability of timers in this new version and has corrected compatibility issues with external video cards. Several minor bugs have been fixed too.
Audio Hijack Pro 1.1 is a free update for registered users. Audio Hijack Pro 1.1 is available for download now, and costs US$30 to register. Upgrades are available if you’re a registered Audio Hijack user, as well.
