Tenon Intersystems is now shipping iTools 7.0, a new version of its suite of configuration and management tools for the Apache Web server component included with Mac OS X 10.2.5.
iTools has been designed to complement and extend, rather than replace, Apple’s release of Apache, the popular open source Web server. The collection of utilities incorporates elements that you would otherwise need to access using the command line interface in OS X. iTools offers GUI access for FireWire filters, for example, and can be used to set up IP6 over IP4 tunneling. mod_dav 2.0 is also included — handy for collaborative Web development — along with a configurable panel for setting up password protected WebDAV access. There’s much more, too.
And in case you were wondering, Tenon’s iTools is unrelated to Apple’s now-defunct iTools, which has since been subsumed by the .Mac subscription service.
iTools costs US$349.
