Blacksmith Technologies has updated Chartsmith, the charting and graphing application for Mac OS X, to version 1.2.1. This upgrade offers enhanced Keynote integration and expanded AppleScript support.
Now if you request a Keynote document export from Chartsmith, you can also choose a theme from a list of all installed Keynote themes. Plus, you can include your Chartsmith chart notes as Keynote slide notes, if you wish.
Chartsmith’s AppleScript dictionary has been updated to provide commands that support bulk data loads and license detection. License detection lets AppleScript developers detect if Chartsmith is running in demo mode, in which case image export isn’t allowed. However, charts created through the Applescript can be viewed directly in Chartsmith even if the app is running in demo mode.
Also included in Chartsmith 1.2.1 are improved interface controls, better data parsing, and enhanced axis and grid labeling. A demo copy of Chartsmith is available at the Blacksmith Web site. Registration is US$129. Educational discounts are $99 for faculty members and $69 for students. Version 1.2.1 is a free update to registered users of version 1.0-1.2.
