Ulead Systems Inc. has announced the release of DVD PictureShow for Mac. The software can be used to create digital photo slideshows for both CD and DVD media.
DVD PictureShow provides tools for assembling digital images, creating navigation elements and menus, and applying templates like holiday, vacation and romantic themes. You can also add text, background music and import images for use in menu backgrounds. Once you’re done, you can preview your creation and then burn it for posterity.
Ulead Systems Inc. image editing product manager Colwin Chan sees DVD PictureShow as complementary to Apple’s own iLife utilities, like iDVD and iPhoto.
“While Apple’s iDVD and iPhoto give Mac users a variety of options for working with their digital media, DVD PictureShow for Mac offers a complementary, streamlined approach to easily and quickly transform digital photos into entertaining digital slideshows,” explained Chan. “The software is also unique because it works with both CD and DVD burners, giving the majority of consumers who do not have a DVD burner the option of burning their final slideshow to inexpensive CD media that they can still watch on TV using a standard DVD player.”
Ulead DVD PictureShow for Mac is available from the company’s Web site for US$29.95. OEM versions are planned for early May, with language localization in English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Japanese and Portuguese.
