Tribeworks Inc. has released iShell 3, the QuickTime-native multimedia authoring suite. In conjunction with the release the company has also announced a special promotion dubbed “Operation Productivity.”
iShell is designed to enable the creation of customized media players that launch from a Web site. Besides full QuickTime integration, version 3 adds Mac OS X compatibility, native XML support, Unicode capability, and MPEG-4 A/V support.
To help kick off iShell 3, Tribeworks has teamed with Intelligent Assistance, makers of database resource software, for “Operation Productivity” a promotion for existing Macromedia Director and Macromedia Authorware customers. Current owners of any of the Intelligent Assistant products are also eligible for the promotion.
The special offer, which begins today and runs through May 16, includes iShell 3 for Mac OS X, iShell 3 for Windows, and an Intelligent Assistant product of your choice for US$699. That’s a discount of up to 40 percent from a list price of $1,124 for all the included products.
The Intelligent Assistant products provide on-the-job reference and at-the-point-of-need training. These “Intelligent Assistants” — available for Final Cut Pro, DVD Studio Pro, Boris FX, After Effects, and more — contain fully searchable databases of text, images, and movies delivered via a floating on-screen interface.
