Austin, TX-based Vix Inc. has announced a new line of products designed to protect PowerBooks and iBooks from scratching and scuffing called TiArmor. The company explained that TiArmor is designed to protect the “high-traffic areas” of Apple’s laptops from the paint-wear problems some users have complained about.
TiArmor is made from a polyurethane material and is available in clear or grey. Pre-molded in shapes designed to fit the front edge, wrist-rest area and top cover sections of Apple laptops, TiArmor is applied after you’ve cleaned the laptop and peeled off a non-stick backing.
Vix offers TiArmor in sizes to fit 12, 15 and 17 inch PowerBooks, and provides an iBook version as well. The company doesn’t specifically mention whether or not the iBook product is designed to fit the 14 inch iBook model — the Web site appears to show TiArmor working with the 12 inch model specifically.
Available for US$19.95 and $29.95, TiArmor is ready for purchase from Vix’s Web site now. The company also plans to make TiArmor available through major retailers and online resellers.
