FileMaker Inc. has released a free FileMaker-to-Keynote tool that lets FileMaker users transform data in FileMaker Pro 6 databases into native presentations for Apple’s new Keynote presentation software.
The tool helps developers extract text, graphics and chart data from FileMaker Pro databases, thanks to the XML/XSLT support. XML (Extensible Markup Language) is the standard for universal data exchange; XSLT (Extensible Stylesheet Language Transformations) lets you import XML grammar.
In addition to the FileMaker-to-Keynote tool, there are over 20 business-ready XSLT stylesheets available for free download at FileMaker XML Central. Each of the stylesheets, which range from FileMaker Pro-to-Microsoft Excel to FileMaker Pro-to-iPod, translates XML grammar. This lets FileMaker Pro exchange data with other applications that support XML.
