Following MacCentral’s article earlier this week noting
release of Label Software version 6, the label printer manufacturer today officially announced the software’s release. DYMO Label Software v6 is the first version to support Mac OS X natively.
DYMO LabelWriters are personal label printers that connect to the Mac using USB. You can print over 40 styles and sizes of labels from one of a variety of different compatible models, eschewing the use of label sheets through your laser or inkjet printer. DYMO LabelWriters are useful for printing shipping labels, security badges, nametags, file folders, barcodes, and other applications.
Besides Mac OS X compatibility, new features in DYMO Label Software v6 include a redesigned interface; single click on-label editing; a new address book layout; text and image design features including curved text, barcodes and more; support for CD and DVD label printing, and new “Smart Paste” technology.
“Smart Paste” enables you to print data or text from software like Word and Excel without having to export the data first. What’s more, an add-in for MS Word enables you to print address labels from the popular word processor as well.
DYMO Label Software v6 is a free download from DYMO’s Web site. The new software requires recent versions of Mac OS X and works with DYMO LabelWriter 300 series and EL series printers.
