O’Reilly & Associates has released “JavaScript & DHTML Cookbook,” a US$39.95 book by Danny Goodman that collects practical code recipes for problems facing Web designers.
The 520-page “Cookbook” contains a collection of problems, solutions, and examples for those using JavaScript and Dynamic HTML to enhance Web pages. Accompanying each problem addressed in the book is a solution or “recipe” — a focused piece of code that Web developers can insert directly into their applications. There are also explanations on how and why the code works.
The 150-plus recipes in the “JavaScript & DHTML Cookbook” range from tasks such as manipulating strings and validating dates in JavaScript to libraries that demonstrate complex tasks, such as cross-browser positioning of HTML elements and sorting tables.
