Realmac Software has released AudioX 3, its sound recording application for Mac OS X. The software has been completely rewritten for this new release and contains numerous new features.
AudioX can record sound from any input source under Mac OS X, whether it’s the built in mic on some models, a USB-based microphone, FireWire-based DV camera, or audio-in port. Applications for AudioX include recording sound effects, voice memos, voice transcription, even converting vinyl records to digital audio.
AudioX 3 sports more than 20 enhancements from its previous iteration, including export to AIFF. You can control playback speed, write text notes related to each audio recording, and more. AudioX’s interface has been reworked with new toolbar icons, as well, and sports file management that Realmac Software likens to Apple’s own iTunes and iPhoto software.
AudioX 3 requires Jaguar or later. The software cost US$19.95 to register. Registered users of AudioX 2 can upgrade for $5.
