Adobe Systems Inc. will be among the sponsors and participants of The Society of Publication Designers (SPD) Magazine Design Conference. The conference is being held in New York City from May 15-18, 2003 at the Ritz Carlton hotel in Battery Park City.
The SPD event focuses on talking about and rewarding designers with new ideas in the magazine industry. Glamour UK Creative Director, Geoff Waring, will show attendees how his company used Adobe’s professional-level layout package, InDesign, when starting the magazine.
Adobe will host three days worth of training in a fully-equipped computer lab, courtesy of Apple — classes on InDesign will be taught every hour by Adobe staff. Every attendee that completes the course will receive a free copy of InDesign from Adobe.
A second class will cover what’s new and great about OS X, Adobe InCopy and SoftCare K4 for editorial systems on an manageable scale. Not to be left out, Adobe’s Russell Brown will be on hand to talk to attendees about Adobe’s flagship product, Photoshop.
More information of the event can be found at The Society of Publication Designers Magazine Design Conference Web site.
