Mac game publisher Aspyr Media has released a demo version of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, the latest game based on the enormously popular book and movie series.
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is a 3D action/adventure game that follows the events that take place in the second book in J.K. Rowling’s enormously popular series about the boy wizard, Harry Potter. Players assume Harry’s role as they explore the grounds of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, participate in Wizard’s Duels, cast second-year spells, defeat foes like Aragog the giant spider and the Basilisk, and more.
Players will also interact with characters from the books and movie like Dobby, Professor Lockhart, Ginny Weasley, and Harry’s friends Ron and Hermione. You can collect Wizard Cards, Bernie Bott’s Every Flavor Beans, Chocolate Frogs and more along the way, also.
This is Aspyr’s second Harry Potter offering. Last year, the company brought to market a Mac conversion of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. The game was originally published for the PC by Electronic Arts, and Westlake Interactive facilitated the conversion.
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets requires Mac OS 9.1 or later, G3/350MHz or faster, 128MB RAM (256MB for OS X), and ATI RAGE 128/16MB VRAM or better 3D graphics acceleration.
The demo version measures 18MB and can be downloaded from Macgamefiles.com. For more details on the game itself, visit Aspyr’s Web site.
