iView Multimedia has announced the Mac and Windows release of iView Media, a digital media organizing software aimed at consumers. The software is based on the company’s iView MediaPro software, used by Mac-based photographers, graphic designers and others.
iView Media enables you to manage, share and protect photos, graphics, video and music clips. It works with local hard disks, CDs, server, or Web-based content, as well. The software supports more than 70 different file types, including JPEG, DV, and metadata standards like EXIF, QT and IPTC.
You can use iView Media to find digital content by searchable tags; sort them by simple characteristics, like date, event or location; create slideshows with audio soundtracks; play back movies, QuickTime VR files, and music; automatically create Web galleries of photos and movies; and backup content.
iView Media runs on Mac OS X and Mac OS 9, and can be purchased online for US$29.95. It’s also available from retailers in the US, UK, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Japan, Asia Pacific and Australia.
