Destineer subsidiary MacSoft announced that it is shipping the Mac conversion of Dungeon Siege. The company said that Dungeon Siege could appear on store shelves as early as today.
Dungeon Siege is an action oriented fantasy role playing game set in the mythical land of Ehb, a once-peaceful kingdom that’s been overrun by warlike foes. It’s up to you to uncover the dark forces behind the invasion and put a stop to it once and for all.
The game employs a novel 3D engine that is continuous — it doesn’t freeze or stall to load new levels — and emphasizes team-oriented strategy-based combat.
Dungeon Siege was developed by Gas Powered Games. Published for the PC by Microsoft Corp. and one of 2002’s most popular PC games, Dungeon Siege’s Mac conversion was handled by Westlake Interactive.
You can assemble up to eight characters in your party as you travel through caves, forests, ruins and other vistas to search for foes, collect treasure, improve your characters’ abilities and equipment, and more. The game features multiplayer combat that enables users to participate either as part of a traveling party or go against each other in head-to-head combat. Online gaming can be handled on LANs or through the Internet and via the GameRanger game service.
Dungeon Siege requires a G3/450MHz or faster, Mac OS X 10.1.5 or higher, 3D graphics card with 16MB video RAM, and 256MB RAM.
