Hot on the heels of
newly announced iPods,
Creative Technology Ltd. has introduced two white speaker systems built specifically for the Apple device: the I-Trigue 2.1 I3350 and the TravelSound I300.
The US$99.99 I-Trigue 2.1 I3350 — which also works with iMacs and iBooks — sports two slim speakers with a wooden subwoofer and delivers 80 watts of power. The speaker system comes with a included wired remote with power, volume, and bass controls, plus a built in headphone jack. The I-Trigue 2.1 I3350 includes: three titanium one-inch micro-drivers; a subwoofer with a 6.5-inch throw driver and a dual flared port tube; 80dbSNR; and a frequency response of 30Hz-20kHz.
The TravelSound I300 speaker system, also $99, is a portable system, delivering 30-plus hours of music playback time on four regular AAA alkaline batteries. It’s a powered, one-piece, amplified speaker system. It has two one-inch titanium micro-drivers and a digital amplifier. The foldable speaker system is bundled with a universal power adapter and carrying case.
Creative Technology is also working on a third speaker system for the iPod. It’s due for unveiling in about three months.
