Alias|Wavefront, the company behind the Maya product line, has announced that its third party developer program, the Conductors Program, will now offer three levels of participation Conductor, Semi-Conductor, and Conductor Community.
The Conductors Program, launched in 1999, is a third party developer program with more than 90 members. The Conductor level membership is the premium offering and is designed for developers of commercial third party products. It has an annual fee of US$1,999 and includes all Conductors Program benefits, including: four seats of Maya Unlimited or StudioTools software, full hotline technical support, beta software access, participation in the bimonthly newsletter, access to a members-only Web site with API (application programming interface) knowledge base access, a product catalog page on the Alias Conductors Web page, and other co-marketing activities.
The $999 Semi-Conductor level membership is tailored to third party developers of both commercial and non-commercial plug-ins, scripts, or who ensure data compatibility with other applications that work with Maya and StudioTools software. It offers up to three seats of DesignStudio or Maya Complete software, participation in the bimonthly newsletter, members site, and API knowledge base, catalog Web page, and all other co-marketing activities.
The Conductor Community is free and “embraces all interested developers and offers members site API knowledge base and Maya and StudioTools software branding for members’ Web sites,” according to Craig Dean, Conductors program manager. He said this level was implemented “in recognition of the vast amount of developer activity around public domain Maya Embedded Language (MEL).”
