Mac game publisher Aspyr Media has announced its latest conversion project: The company is working on the Mac and PC conversions of Kelly Slater’s Pro Surfer.
Kelly Slater’s Pro Surfer puts players on surfboards as they barrel through huge waves and pull of trick combos and pro moves as the game simulates realistic ocean conditions. Players can take the role of six-time World Champion Kelly Slater or one of eight other pro surfers, interacting with other surfers, sponsors, magazines and photographers as they visit real world locations and events.
There’s a Career Mode, Free Surf mode and multiplayer games as well. You can unlock new riders, boards, events, videos and secret breaks. You can save your best stats in the Record Book and track world records set throughout the game.
The game was originally developed by Treyarch and published by Activision, the same label that produces games like Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 4. This is Aspyr’s third announcement that it will publish the Mac and PC versions of a game itself — the company is giving the same treatment to Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 4 and Spy Hunter.
The game is still in early development — Aspyr Media’s project status page — shows the game has reached the Alpha milestone. Preliminary system requirements, which may change before the game ships, call for Mac OS X 10.1.2 or later, G4/733MHz or faster; 256MB RAM; 700MB hard drive; and ATI Radeon or Nvidia GeForce2 MX or better 3D graphics accelerator with at least 32MB of VRAM.
Aspyr is currently accepting pre-orders for Kelly Slater’s Pro Surfer and anticipates shipping the game in June.
