Dr RawStock — a Los Angeles, California company that specializes in Final Cut Pro training and solutions — is now renting Final Cut Pro HD editing suites for US$6,000 per week, at least temporarily. The company has also upgraded its HD capabilities by adding Sony HDCAM decks and 10 terabytes of fiber storage.
The flat rate rental fee of $6,000 is only good for this month and next, and is “at least 50 percent below the industry average of $13,000 per week,” according to Blake Roberts, RawStock’s vice president of marketing.
Each of Dr RawStock’s HD edit suites includes: one HDCAM deck; AJA Video HD products for uncompressed HD editing and graphics; one DVCAM deck; one SVHS deck; dual LCD monitors; one NTSC, HD compatible video monitor; a 16-channel sound mixing board; an uninterrupted power supply; a work surface designed specifically for editors; and two studio monitor speakers. Optional resources include: Evertz Afterburner; Pinnacle Systems’ CinewaveRT products for SD/HD editing; BetacamSP decks; digital Betacam decks; DLT for mass DVD replication; and various video and graphics applications.
