iMimic Networking Inc. and WARP Solutions have released iMimic DataReactor, Web caching software that is designed to support Mac OS X and Mac OS X Server running on Xserves. The software is designed to improve the performance and delivery of Web-based content.
DataReactor has been developed to support all Web caching modes including forward proxy, transparent proxy with L4 switch or WCCP router, stand-alone transparent, clustered and reverse proxy. Configuration of the software is handled using a Web-based interface.
iMimic Networking COO Filip Vandenbussche said his company’s push into Mac OS X is part of its strategy to extend the market for DataReactor; iMimic plans to market the technology aggressively to the educational market. iMimic said that it is working with several educational institutions already.
The DataReactor “Core” also provides FTP, search engine, message board and query caching along with cache content pre-positioning, and supports access control policies.
