has released a FileMaker database engine-based application called FitnessTracker Pro. Aimed at everyone from casual exercisers to professional athletes, the software lets you evaluate your workout.
Creator David Schloss explained that FitnessTracker Pro was created as an alternative to the paper-based training journals that many athletes keep. “I’m an avid cyclist, so each time I exercise I used to write down all the details in a log book. At the end of the week, I’d have to sit around with a pen and a calculator just to figure out how far I’d gone.”
The software features a tabbed interface that includes sections like the Workout Entry screen, Weightlifting Log, Race Log, and Weekly Goals interface. The software calculates weekly, monthly and yearly totals, broken down by category, time and distance.
A demo version is available for download. It costs US$10 to register, and registered users get free upgrades through version 2.0. System requirements call for Mac OS X 10.1 or later.
