@Last Software will offer a preview of SketchUp 3.0 in their booth at the AIA (American Institute of Architects) National Convention and Expo, which runs May 8-10 at the San Diego Convention Center.
SketchUp is a Mac OS X compatible tool for creating, viewing, modifying and communicating 3D ideas. It can exchange data with all standard CAD, 3D modeling, image editing, illustration and animation applications.
Version 3.0 adds the ability to add text and dimension annotation. You can now output to EPS, PDF and VRML files (for use with vector illustration software such Adobe Illustrator) or to AVI and MOV files (for use in animation and multimedia presentations). SketchUp 3.0 also adds improved arcs, circles and polygons; curved faces and soft edges; material transparency; VRML export; and a Layer Control Palette.
No pricing has been announced for SketchUp 3.0. However, version 2.x costs $495 and is available in English, French, German, Swedish, Japanese, Korean and Chinese.
