Emagic’s Logic Platinum for Mac OS X and Mac OS 9 has been updated to version 6.1 and is a free download for registered users of Logic Platinum 6. The update allows the use of Digidesign TDM systems with Logic Platinum 6 under Mac OS X.
Logic Platinum is a software package combining digital audio recording and editing, digital signal processing, software instruments, MIDI sequencing and music notation. Version 6.1 provides the full functionality of Emagic’s optional ESB TDM and PTHD extensions in Mac OS X, according to Emagic. This offers TDM users the chance to use the Emagic software instruments — ES1, ES2, EVOC20, EVP88, EVD6, EVB3 and EXS24 — in combination with the TDM DSP hardware together with Logic Platinum 6 on Mac OS X.
For both Mac OS X (10.2 or higher) and Mac OS 9 (9.1 and higher) users, Logic Platinum 6.1 adds the ability to Akai S1000/3000 samples for the EXS24 mk II under Mac OS X. And Logic Platinum 5 users who download the 6.1 update have a free trial period of 28 days, without any restrictions. (Emagic is a wholly owned subsidiary of Apple.)
