Could adding wheels to a Power Mac be a new trend? Not only has Marathon Computer introduced the MacSkate, but MacMice Workspace Products Co. has rolled out the iScoot.
The US$99.99 iScoot is a clear-acrylic roll stand that’s sized to “perfectly fit” a Power Mac, said MacMice President Jack Campbell. The purpose of the iScoot is to keep your tower off the floor, protecting it from dust and dirt. The addition of wheels facilitates moving the Power Mac for vacuuming or attaching/unattaching cables.
Campbell said the roll stand “could easily support 300 pounds, if needed.” The iScoot has a 3/8th-inch, thick hand formed acrylic deck made from clear Acrylite brand acrylic and clear polymer, industrial-strength casters.
