Apple will open two new retail stores this weekend in Bellevue, Washington, and Huntington Station, New York.
The Bellevue, Washington store’s grand opening will be Saturday, May 10, at 9:30AM (Pacific). It’s located the Bellevue Square Mall. The Huntington Station Store will open at 10AM (Eastern) at the Walt Whitman Mall in Huntington Station, New York.
Both will showcase the third generation of iPods and iTunes 4. The 17-inch PowerBook will also be on hand, as will the entire gamut of Apple hardware and software.
The Bellevue and Huntington Station stores will bring the total number of Apple retail stores to 55. That number will swell to approximately 70 by the end of the year.
Meanwhile, Apple Europe is engaged in a new round of marketing activity to promote its online Apple Store, according to Macworld UK. Mac users who haven’t registered for the store are currently being sent e-mails encouraging them to sign up for the company’s online shop.
Apple is also offering Mac users who have not set up an Apple Store account an e-coupon for £15 (ex. VAT) off their first online order of £149 (ex. VAT) or more — but only if they have received the promotional mailing from the company, according to Macworld UK.
